Actor - Director - Screenwriter
Julien Courbey
Julien Courbey made his debut on the big screen in 1991 in Georges Lautner's Triplex, before joining the ranks of the television series Seconde B. After an appearance in A cause elle (1995), the young actor rubbed shoulders with Gérard Depardieu and Christian Clavier in Les Anges gardiens by Jean-Marie Poiré, then joined the prestigious cast of Hommes, femmes : mode d'emploi from Claude Lelouch one year later.
Alternating between comedy and drama, he takes part in the investigation of K (1997) by Alexandre Arcady, before sharing alongside Stéphane Soo Mongo and Jamel Debbouze the poster Le Ciel, les oiseaux et ... ta mère (1999), the first feature film by his friend Djamel Bensalah. He then finds again the style of suburbs in Old School (2000).
Ballading "his atypical physique, his crazy face and his protruding ears" (Djamel Bensalah) in Gamer (2001), Chouchou (2003) and Alive (2004), Julien Courbey finds his greatest roles under the direction of this filmmaker in Raid (2002) or in Once upon a time in the Oued (2005).
