Lawrence Valin
Lawrence Valin began his cinematic career as an actor. He starred in feature films, like ‘Lola Pater’ by Nadir Moknèche or ‘Hauts perchés’ by Olivier Ducastel et Jacques Martineau.
In 2016, he entered the program ‘La Résidence de La Fémis’ and directed his short film ‘Little Jaffna’ for which he won the Grand Prix Cinébanlieue and the Prix Canal + at the Clermont-Ferrand festival.
In 2019, he directed a medium-length film titled ‘The Loyal Man’, and won the Best Actor interpretation award at the Clermont-Ferrand festival.
Since then, he has been focusing on writing his first feature film, ‘Little Jaffna’ (Ealam), selected by agencies like Groupe Ouest, Emergence Cinema, or les Ateliers D’Angers. The project received writing support from CNC and the region of Île de France.
